A share of the season
CSA members sign up to receive a selection of our seasonal best every week. Each share reflects our work and the variety of our crops, and also the changing seasons, the weather and the whims of fate.
CSA farm pickup is on Tuesdays, 2:30 to 6:30 pm, during a CSA session.

- A note every MondayWhat's in that week's share, farm news, and ideas for storing and cooking it. Unfamiliar vegetables are spaced out, not all at once.
- Grown here, without synthetic spraysNo synthetic pesticides, herbicides or fertilizers. The odd item comes from a farm we trust, like carrots from Sacred Sun Cooperative Farm in Perry, KS, and we always say so.

Put the goats to work
Whether it's invasive honeysuckle, poison ivy, or vines and bushes that have taken over, the goats will eat it all down. After one grazing you'll see a much cleaner landscape and much slower regrowth. Two grazings in a season, or grazing over several years, does even more.

We fence it and bring the goats
Electric fencing we set up concentrates the herd on a small area, so they strip it rather than wander.
They graze for a day or longer
Depending on the size of the area. We make sure they have water and minerals and check them every day.
You enjoy them
All you have to do is watch, and let us know if there are any problems.
Why goats
Better sight lines and air circulation, and less habitat for mosquitoes and ticks. Poison ivy is stripped from ground level up as high as they can reach.

The farm
We grow good food
20 acres of rolling hills and woods, just above the Kansas River.
Laura is the queen of the vegetables here. With help from her crew she grows about 3 acres of practically every kind of vegetable you can imagine. We have been farming since 2007.
Katherine, after years of growing vegetables, fell in love with goats. The herd began in 2021 with 12 animals and has grown to 120 does, bucks and kids, mostly Savannas and Boers, with a few dairy goats to keep things lively. We love them like pets, but they are working animals.
We manage the farm with organic and sustainable practices, and we try to support a lively, integrated ecosystem across the whole place.
